PostDoc and former PhD student of Lars P. Feld at Universität Freiburg, Germany.

Jointly with Feld and Bruno S. Frey they were accepted at the 2012 Annual Conference of the German Economic Association as well as the 2012 Parallel Meetings of the European Economic Association & the Econometric Society with a paper about academic misconduct among members of the European Economic Association. Later she published a very similar study based on a survey of members of the German Economoc Association just under her own name in Perspektiven der Wirtschaftspolitik, published by the German Economic Association and edited by her PhD supervisor Lars P. Feld. The other two authors' names do not appear in it, also none of their publications is cited.

E5 THE ECONOMICS OF SCIENCE AND EDUCATION
Raum: ZHG 005 15.35–17.05 Uhr
1. Sarah NECKER, Universität Freiburg/Walter-

"Scientic Misbehavior in Economics -
Evidence from Europe"

Sarah Necker, "Wissenschaftliches Fehlverhalten – ein Problem in der deutschen Volkswirtschaftslehre?", Perspektiven der Wirtschaftspolitik Volume 13, Issue 4, pages 267–285, November 2012[]

DOI: 10.1111/j.1468-2516.2012.00396.x

In December 2014, she published a study "Scientific misbehavior in economics", Research Policy, Volume 43, Issue 10, December 2014, Pages 1747–1759. doi: 10.1016/j.respol.2014.05.002 based on the survey of members of the European Economic Association. Now it became solo-authored.

In its section "2. Previous literature" her previous publication in which the same methodology was used is not mentioned at all. It is only cited at a different point, and this does not make clear to the reader at all that what she publishes in Research Policy is nearly the same as she had already published, only in English instead of German, and with European instead of just German speaking economists surveyed.
